What is Lu Jong?

Lu Jong is an ancient Tibetan practice from the Buddhist Tantrayana tradition. Rooted in principles of Tibetan Medicine, it is a series of movements developed for the purpose of self-healing. 

With this practice, you will be able to release blockages on the physical, energetic, and mental levels. The result is that you can effectively combat disease and imbalances, transform negative emotions, and increase your vitality.

Lu Jong is accessible to people of all ages, abilities and beliefs. The combination of rhythmic movements and breathing gently massages the body, targeting particular energetic points. 

The Full Lu Jong Level 1 practice includes:

  • The Five Elements Movements (for opening the spine and general balancing)
  • The Five Body Parts Movements (for the musculoskeletal system)
  • The Five Vital Organ Movements (for improving function of the kidneys, heart, lungs, spleen and liver)
  • The Six Conditions Movements (for helping common imbalances such as digestion, senses, mood, and body temperature)
  • The Two Movements for Sleep and Wakefulness (for shifting your energy quickly)

Arrival & Departure Times

Transportation from Airport to Retreat Center

The closest airport is Hilo (ITO). 

Round-trip transportation from Hilo to Kalani Retreat is included in the program cost.

If you prefer to fly into Kona (KOA) on the west side of the island, you can take public transportation or rent a car. Driving time from Kona Airport to Hilo Airport is 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Cancellation Policy

If it is necessary to cancel your participation in this retreat, there is a $75 non-refundable registration fee.

The remaining amount above $75 is refundable until 21 days before the start of the retreat.

If canceling within less than 21 days before start of the retreat, 50% of the full value is non-refundable and the other 50% may be applied toward any future Tibetan Healing Movement event. 

 

About Your Teacher

Farrah Garan has dedicated her life to spreading the deep wisdom of the Tibetan healing arts. Her aim is to make these simple—but powerfully effective—practices widely known so that many may benefit. 

Farrah first learned Lu Jong in 2002 and has developed a deep love for it and the other Tantrayana practices she has received from Tulku Lobsang, including Tsa Lung, Tog Chöd and Tummo. Again and again, she experiences in herself and witnesses in her students the vitality, clarity and joy that is a benefit of these profound methods.
